Xandros Teams with Ingram Micro Canada to Deliver End-to-End Linux Solutions to Major Canadian Resellers

May 24, 2006

New Agreement Launches Xandros Retail Presence in Canadian Market Giving New Customers Easy-to-Use Alternatives to Windows

NEW YORK, New York - Xandros, the leading provider of easy-to-use Linux alternatives to Windows desktop and server products, today announced that it has teamed up with the Canadian operations of Ingram Micro Inc., (NYSE: IM), the world's largest technology distributor, to deliver the Xandros line of Linux desktop and server solutions to major Canadian resellers.

This strategic move follows the recent release of the award-winning Xandros Server, the first SMB alternative to Windows Server 2003, which, together with the award-winning Xandros Desktop, delivers the first practical end-to-end Linux solution to the retail channel.

"At Ingram Micro, we recognize the opportunity that Linux provides our customers, and by adding the Xandros Server and Xandros Desktop solutions to our line card, we are giving greater choice to resellers, particularly those focused on the home-office and SMB Linux markets," said Martin Kalsbeek, general manager and vice president, Ingram Micro Canada. "Being a leader in Microsoft Windows™ compatibility, Xandros addresses a real market need by offering a reliable alternative for end users who are switching to Linux."

"Xandros has deep roots in Canadian soil, so we're especially excited to be teaming up with Canada's largest IT distributor to bring our end-to-end Linux solutions to the retail channel," said Andreas Typaldos, Xandros CEO. "Ingram Micro is a vital partner and innovative technology leader who can help convey the Xandros vision and assure our channel success."

Xandros provides a full line of easy-to-use desktop operating systems that work right out of the box and offer unrivalled compatibility with Microsoft Windows. Xandros Desktop OS assures rock-solid stability and security, along with the freedom that an open environment provides.

Xandros recently launched the first Linux server to provide a powerful platform for enterprise administrators and SMBs with little or no Linux experience. The award-winning Xandros Server compliments the company’s award-winning desktop, software deployment, and management software to complete a full end-to-end product line.
